The Art of Mixology: Crafting Custom Acne Treatments for Your Clients
As a skincare professional, you’re already equipped with an impressive array of acne-fighting products. But what if you could elevate your treatments by combining these products into powerful, custom solutions? Welcome to the art of Tuel Mixology—where science meets creativity to deliver clear skin, just as your clients ordered.
Clear It with Clay
A clay mask is a staple in any esthetician’s acne treatment backbar thanks to its ability to detoxify and purify the skin. But by adding specific serums and essential oils, you can tailor the mask to address your client's unique skin concerns. Some of our favorite mix-ins include:
- Use Desert Clay as your base, then add an additional clay mask with anti-inflammatory benefits and a healing gel mask rich in antioxidants, coenzyme Q10, algae extract, and glucosamine.
- If their acne is inflamed or they are in the middle of a breakout, adding serums to your clay mask can be just what their skin needs to soothe and treat. Mix a few drops of Detox Essential Oil, Hydrate Super Moisture Serum, and Make Amends Healing Moisture Cream together, then mix the Detox Clay Mask with a bit of water to create a smooth consistency and apply.
Peel and Heal Scars
If your client’s main concerns are existing acne scars or skin texture in general, a peel can be just the skincare cocktail they need. Addressing scars can be just as important as treating active breakouts.
- For an all-over treatment, we like mixing an enzyme peel with a gentle mechanical exfoliant and a glycolic solution and gently massaging it onto the skin, focusing on scarred areas. Then, finish with a calming mask. (Bonus? Ours can be used as a mask or a moisturizer cream.)
